Choose a different ball gown or party dress. From cocktail and race wear, to Bridesmaids to Ball/Prom gowns. Our stock is always changing, so come in and view our huge selection on gowns!

All garments are professionally dry cleaned and steamed by our expert dry cleaners before every wear. The cost of hiring a dress is $120, there is and additional charge of $100 for a bond that is fully refunded upon return of the dress in accordance with our terms and conditions.

UPSTYLE DryCleaning

Q: How long is the hire for?
Approximately three nights, typically Friday to Monday. If you visit our store the week of your event, you can take your dress with you. We are very flexible, so give us a call if you need extra time.

Q: Do you require a bond?
Yes we do. The bond is typically $100 per dress. As long as your dress is returned as agreed, we will return the deposit.

Q: Can I come and try dresses on?
Absolutely! Come into the shop try some on! We have a huge range for you to choose from. Our knowledgeable staff will help you find the perfect dress.

Q: Are your dresses washed?
They certainly are! We have a specialist drycleaning service. We ask that customers do not wash the dresses as many of them are delicate and need special treatment.

  • Should you decide to use our layby option, you will need to make a 30% deposit.
  • You will be given a duration of six weeks to pay in full.
  • Your orders will not be shipped until full payment has been received.
  • Inability to pay your balances within the six-week period will result in the cancellation of your transaction without a refund.

Returns/Exchanges Our policy lasts for 30 days. At Upstyle, we want you to be happy with your purchase. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, we would love for you to return the item for a refund or exchange. Of course, we will have to have the item inspected that the item has not been worn, is unwashed and be otherwise in its original condition with the tag attached. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, we cannot offer you a refund or exchange.

Shipping your Return To return your item, please notify us beforehand by emailing: iThis email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Mail your returning items to: Upstyle, Northtown Mall, 98 Evans St, Timaru 7910, New Zealand. You will be responsible for paying your own shipping costs for returning items.

Refunds All items can be refunded. Once your return is received and inspected, we will send an email to notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If a refund is approved, your payment minus a shipping & handling fee ($9.00), will be applied back to your original payment method. Please note: If you purchased a Upstyle item from a retail store, you must return it to the store purchase.

We provide free express shipping within New Zealand when orders are over $100, We use New Zealand Post to send your goods, with track-able delivery. When your item is packed and dispatched, you will receive an automatic email with the trackable link. Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your delivery may vary. If you do not receive your item within 3 - 4 days, please contact us.

  1. It is assumed that customers have read, understood and agreed to the listed conditions of hire, signature thereof will be deemed as acceptance.
  2. You must be 18 years or over to make a booking.
  3. All gowns remain the property of Upstyle hire
  4. Only Mastercard or Visa Credit Card are accepted as deposits.
  5. The named hirer has the sole responsibility for the gown until it is returned to Upstyle Hire.
  6. No refunds will be issued once a gown has been booked, this includes cancellation of the function, for whatever reason.
  7. Any changes to a booking will be subject to a $20 administration fee.
  8. Gowns cannot be changed once they left the shop premises.
  9. If a gown has been booked and subsequently damaged by a third party before your hire date, we will offer a comparable replacement.
  10. Customers should check their gowns thoroughly and advise the shop of any damage, marks or items missing before their function. A messege can be left on the answer phone. Any damage not reported by 6pm on the day of collection will be charged to the hirer.
  11. Gowns must be returned on the day specified on the hire agreement, and returned within normal shop opening times. Failure to do so will result in a $10 per day surcharge.
  12. Customers must not wash gowns or tumble dry any wet item.
  13. Customers must not attach sticky labels or badges to any part of the gown.
  14. Customers must not pin, sew, glue or iron any gown that is hired.
  15. Part or all of the deposit will be forfeited or the cost of replacement charged if:
    1. The gown is returned beyond reasonable repair.
    2. The gown is returned needing specialized cleaning.
    3. The gown is returned with permanent damage ie, cigarette burns
    4. The gown is returned with one or more items missing.
    5. Any modifications have been carried out on the gown.
    6. The gown is returned with blood (or any other body fluids).
    7. The gown is not returned to Upstyle Hire for whatever reason.
  16. Deposits or the cost of replacement will be deducted from the customers credit/debit card (if applicable) if the gown is returned, as per condition 12,13,14,15,16.
  17. Gowns must be returned to Upstyle Hire using a “proof of delivery” service ie, the package must be signed for.
  18. Goods lost in transit back to Upstyle Hire are the Hirers responsibility.
  19. Upstyle Hire cannot be held responsible for any gown that does not fit.

  • The articles comprised in this order (hereafter referred to as goods) are received in good order and condition.
  • Once goods have left the premises of Upstyle Hire the hirer is not entitled to a refund due to a change of circumstances or cancellation of event which the goods have been hired.
  • A cancellation fee of $20.00 per gown shall be charged by Upstyle Hire if order is cancelled or not picked up by due date.
  • The goods shall be used in a proper manner, maintained in good condition and will not be cut, altered or otherwise tampered with.
  • from the time of pick up to the time the goods are returned to Upstyle the hirer shall accept full responsibility of the goods.
  • If goods are lost or not returned the hirer shall be charged the cost of replacement.
  • If the goods are in any way damaged the hirer shall be charged for all replacement or repair fees.
  • Goods not returned on or before the due date shall be charged a late fee of $35 per gown, per day.
  • Should the hirer fail to return the goods within the fourteen(14) days of the return date the hirer shall immediately become liable for the replacement value of the goods
  • Any legal proceedings or other actions taken to obtain the goods shall be at the cost of the hirer.
  • The hirer shall be deemed to be the person by whom the order is placed even if placed on the behalf of any other person.
